He goes back to Peppy San Badger and Smart Little Lena on the top and is out of a Peponita bred mare Baxter is a well balanced, nice mover with a sweet disposition and an awsome pedigree. His half sister won a BC pleasure futurity. He acts very mature for his age and doesn't mind being last on a trail ride.
We don't believe that there is such a thing as a bomb proof horse, but if there was such a thing Baxter is as close as you can get. Even out on the trail when unexpected things happen, he pretty much takes it all in stride On one trail ride (his third ride) we accidentaly rode thru a wasp nest. Jess was riding him, we were making a trail thru the bush so there was really no place to go. He started to run so Jess took him in a circle and didn't realize he was taking him thru the nest again. Finally Jess just grabbed a tree branch and slid off his back and Baxter came back out of the bush to where the girls and Pearl had retreated when they realized what was going on. He came up to where they were and stopped. Naomi took hold of his reins and pulled a wasp out of his forelock. He calmed right down and stood quietly till Jess came and mounted up and continued on as tho nothing had happened. When we got back and unsaddled Jess ran his hand under his belly and he was covered in bites. Poor guy!
His drawback is his homley head (it's kinda ugly actually LOL, but he has personality). We believe he is worth his weight in gold. $4500
