Pistolena Peppy, 2002, Brown stallion. We nick named him our little Seabiscuit, because he's had a lot of hard knocks, but he showed a lot of tenacity. As Shakespeare said "Though he be but little, he is fierce ".

We put half a doz. rides on him before we introduced him to cattle for the first time (as a 2 yr. old). Jess took him through the herd a couple times, and he showed a lot of expression almost immediately. They slowly sorted out a cow and when the cow stopped, they stopped, when the cow moved they moved too. After a couple times he started to mirror the cow on his own.

This Guy has a powerful pedigree with cutting bloodlines all the way back. Sire is money earner in cutting, so is his sire and his sire, etc. He goes back to Mr. San Peppy, Doc O'Lena & Colonel Freckles on the top side. On the bottom side, Jewel's Leo Bars, Cran Bar X Doc Bar & Poco Bueno.

Unfortunately he had a mishap in which he nearly broke his leg, so he was out of commission for the next year. Now we can only ride him lightly, but to quote Tom Smith:
"You don't throw away a whole life just 'cause he's banged up a little"
